The awards ceremony of the sixth edition of the "Academy of Young Innovators in the Field of Renewable Energies Idea, Project, Challenge" competition, intended for the first and the second year secondary school pupils, was held at the Solar Equipment's Development Unit (UDES/EPST CDER) on Thursday, July 23rd, 2026. This competition was organized by the Solar Equipment’s Development Unit (UDES/EPST CDER) in coordination with the Education Directorate of the wilaya of Tipaza.



The welcome address delivered by the Unit Director Dr. Abbas, in the presence of the Rector of the University of Tipaza Mr. Hadidi, the Education Director of the wilaya of Tipaza, Mr. Teboune, the Deputy Director at EPST / CDER, Mr. K. Imessad, in which he encouraged the students for their efforts and achievements.

Mr. Teboune's speech praised the success of this edition and encouraged the organization of this type of scientific competition, which helps to instill a culture of environmental protection in the minds of the younger generation.
The objective of this competition is to introduce and raise awareness among pupils about the importance of renewable energies in preserving the environment through simple actions such as: recycling agricultural and plastic waste, popularizing the importance of renewable energies in different fields including: the field of water treatment especially in this period of water stress which Algeria is facing , the development of innovation as well as the development of a creative spirit among pupils.
The projects submitted by pupils participating in the competition were sent by their schools to the Solar Equipment's Development Unit (UDES/EPST CDER) to be evaluated by a joint committee of the two institutions organizing the competition, after their presentation by the pupils, according to the following criteria:

• The project idea
• The project report
• The project implementation
• The project presentation

This edition was marked by the proposal of Mrs. Denane, the Renewable Energies Development Center incubater Director (EPST / CDER), to integrate the winning project of the competition into the CDER incubator and ensure its follow-up.



According to the results presented by the committee, the ranking is as follows:

• First place was awarded to the high schools: Khaled Bousmah and Djilali Bounaama.



• Second place was awarded to the high school: Mohamed Talbi.



• Third place was awarded to the high school: Khaled Bousmaha.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of prizes to the winning pupils , honorary certificates were awarded to all participants in this event, as well as to members of the evaluation and organization committees in recognition of their commitment and efforts.
