As part of the celebration of the Summer Solstice, the Renewable Energies Development Center (EPST/CDER) organized a scientific and technical day on Sunday June 21st, 2026, Under the slogan "transforming the research projects results’ into economic value" intended for academic institutions and economic operators, at the headquarters of the Solar Equipment Development Unit (UDES/EPST CDER) located in Bou-Ismail.



The official opening of the day was given by the Director of the Renewable Energies Development Center (EPST CDER), Dr. Tassalit, who emphasized the need for the involvement of different parts of the community (scientists and various economic operators) in order to find solutions to the country's socio-economic problems, particularly those related to energy, food and water security, and to work together to transform the results of research projects in the field of renewable energies concretely through their integration into the economic and industrial sector.

After this, a welcome address was delivered by the Director of the Solar Equipments’ Development Unit (UDES/EPST CDER), Dr. Abbas.
During the day, participants discussed several issues, primarily those related to climate change and its impact on the environment.
The day's program included the following presentations:
1-Presentation of the CDER: its missions, achievements, and its various units, by Dr. Tassalit, Director of the center.
2- Socio-economic issues within the framework of the PNR 5 call for projects, by Ms. Kouadri, Director of ATRST.
3- Sharing of experiences and feedback from the ER2 subsidiary, by Mr. Kouadri.

At the end of the day, participants had the opportunity to visit an exhibition of prototypes representing the research work carried out by researchers from the various units of the EPST, namely:
• A self-contained cold storage room powered by solar energy.
• An intelligent photovoltaic system used for control.
• A concentrated solar power unit for industrial heat production
• A mobile, self-contained desalination plant used for desalinating water with low salinity levels.
• A system used for developing solar drying techniques for the purpose of valorizing and reusing agricultural waste.
